Fact 1: A Painful Past as a Slave
Like many veteran members of the Sun Pirates, Aladine was once a slave of the Celestial Dragons. He bore the brand of a slave on his body, which was later altered by Fisher Tiger into the Sun Pirates’ symbol to conceal that past. Because of his own experience as a slave, he deeply understood and sympathized with Koala when she first came aboard.

Fact 2: Jinbe’s Trusted Successor
When Jinbe decided to leave the crew to join Luffy’s Straw Hat Pirates, Aladine was the one he trusted to take over leadership of the Sun Pirates. He led the entire crew in a desperate rear-guard effort, risking their lives to help the Sunny escape from Big Mom’s territory.
