Let’s Explore and Learn About Ultraman Tiga

Originally, Ultraman Tiga was a Giant of Light who fought to protect peace. However, he and several other Ultras discovered the power of darkness, and together with Darramb, Hudra, and Camearra, he became a Giant of Darkness. During his time on the dark side, Tiga caused the deaths of many innocent lives.

Ultraman Tiga finally returned to the right path after being awakened by Yuzare, a priestess of an ancient civilization. Thanks to her guidance, Tiga sealed away his former dark companions—Darramb, Hudra, and even his lover, Camearra.

As the name suggests, Ultraman Tiga can transform into three different forms. The first is Multi Type, his default form, where both strength and speed are balanced. The second is Power Type, where his strength is greatly increased but his speed is reduced. The third is Sky Type, which enhances his speed but decreases his strength.

Ultraman Tiga is estimated to be around 30 million years old in Earth time. However, it is still unclear which Earth-born Ultraman is older—whether it is Tiga, Ultraman Gaia, Ultraman Agul, or other Earth-based Ultramen.

Ultraman Tiga and Ultraman Dyna exist in the same universe, known as the Neo Frontier Space World. However, despite sharing the same universe, they have very different origins. Tiga comes from an ancient civilization of Giants, while Dyna was originally a human who evolved after being exposed to light-speed radiation.

Surprisingly, even though Ultraman Trigger clearly carries the title “Next Generation Tiga” and has a very similar format, both Ultraman Trigger and Ultraman Decker do not exist in the same universe as Ultraman Tiga and Ultraman Dyna.

Ultraman Tiga can be considered one of the most beloved Ultramen among fans, alongside Ultraman Zero, especially in Southeast Asia and China. In fact, some say that in China, Tiga is even more popular than Zero.
